First time to Maui and first visit to Kahana Village – wow – what a beautiful location to relax and enjoy all the wonders of Maui!
Kahana Village is perfectly located and we stayed in Unit #6 – newly renovated and right on the ocean where we enjoyed fabulous strolls on the beach, morning coffee and several meals on the lanai within an eye shot of whales breaching and watching mesmerizing sunsets. Did I say right on the beach!
In addition to being located right on the beach, unit #6 is centrally located to the pool, BBQ area, and beach lounges.
The team at the Kahana property were warm, friendly and so helpful with special needs and helping orchestrate several side trips.
I highly recommend Kahana Village Unit #6 for a peaceful get-a-way where you can do everything or simply relax in a beautiful open place that is very comfortable – easy parking, plenty of beds/bedrooms, kitchen to prepare meals (if you chose), and that lanai is spectacular.

The unit was immaculate, beautifully arranged, and offered what has to be the best setup and views on the entire property. You're literally just feet away from the sand and waves—nothing beats waking up and stepping right onto the beach!
The spacious outdoor patio was perfect throughout the day, especially at sunset. Great for morning reading, mid-day lounging, and a nice sunset dinner in the evening.
Kahana Village itself is exceptionally maintained, located in a phenomenal spot. You'll immediately fall in love with the private beach just steps from your door.

I just wanted to offer up a review of Unit 41 following our enjoyable stay in this unit! From start to finish of our week-long stay everything was perfect, just right! This is a beautifully decorated unit with very comfortable accommodations. The unit is immaculate with comfortable furnishings, beds, restrooms, and televisions. The kitchen is spotless and has all kitchenware needed. I loved the large black and white wall photo of the early days on the Waikiki surf and Diamond Head. It, along with other unit décor items, surrounded you with the feeling of Aloha! The view from the second floor Unit 41 was refreshing and the outdoor patio allowed us to enjoy the view and outdoor dining options. The location of Unit 41 is, in my mind, ideal at the far end of the complex with easy parking access, direct stairs to the unit, and an element of quiet! Access to the clean and inviting pool and the beach is easy! We even took advantage of the barbecues located adjacent to the pool area in preparing our own meals. In short, we very much enjoyed our stay and would come back without hesitation!

If we had stayed in a hotel we would have had to think about where we were having breakfast, lunch and dinner - dining out in Maui gets very expensive. Each condo has a complete full kitchen. There are four grills if you feel like barbecuing.

First off, there isn't a place in Maui that fit my expectations as well as Kahana Village did without the price tag included. This was worth every penny.
And this is why. THE VIEW MADE my wishes come true! Having a beachfront villa 40 feet from your lanai was a must and this is what made my vacation complete. The sounds, the turtles bobbing up and down, the sunsets, the passing boats, the less crowds, it felt like you had your very own beach.
The condo had all high-end appliances, and everything you could possibly need to cook, including a lot of spices. We were traveling with our 8 month old baby for the first time, and our flight landed early. They were really kind and allowed us to store our luggage in the office until it was time for check-in. Additionally, we had a late flight and they were SO accomodating and let us use the washrooms/lounge area until it was time to leave. As you can imagine, that saved our sanity, especially with our little one who still needed her naps & diaper changes. They even gave her little toys and helped us load her carseat when it was time to leave. THAT is exceptional hospitality and kindness! (And we all need a little more of that in today's world!). Kahana Village Unit 3 We loved our vacation in Unit 3 at Kahana Village. This ocean-front condo is beautifully furnished with everything for a relaxing stay in paradise.
Location can’t be beat in the best part of our favorite island close to Lahaina & Kapalua, but set in a quiet street away from the busy sections in those cities. We appreciated Unit 3’s upgrades with remodeled bathrooms & kitchen & the newer furnishings throughout. But the best part may be the view from the west facing balcony, the perfect place to enjoy the Maui sunsets with a glass of wine every day.
The complex is just the right size. Big enough to have a nice size pool & immaculate grounds without the clutter of a large resort. They host a fun Mai Thai party Wednesdays at 5:00 with live entertainment & multiple raffle prizes.
The owners provide lots of advice for fun hikes & restaurants. For special occasions try Lahaina Grill, one of the top 10 restaurants in the US.

Great property and location We stayed in Unit #5 end, so close to the ocean we almost get wet. Watch whales jumping constantly from our lanai. The property is very well kept and the management has been very responsive to our inquiries and the few issues we had. The unit definitely needs some TLC. It is one of the larger units, 1200 sq ft, we have stayed at in Maui and a big big plus for having an in unit washer and dryer. We are on the second floor, 2 bedroom. The stairs coming up to the unit and the stairs going up to the 2nd level loft bedroom may soon be an issue for us, but for now being on the second floor is worth the views. The lower level unit are 3 bedroom all on one level. We would definitely stay here again. More

First time staying there and I would absolutely come back. So, let's break this down: 1. Atmosphere: Very old Hawaii although the condo itself was recently updated. Quiet, on a very quiet bay that is chock full of turtles. Very small sand beach surrounded by lots of rocks, some reef, etc. This probably draws the turtles but the downside is the clarity of the water there is very very poor. While other areas around this side were quite clear during this period, this bay was most definitely not so keep that in mind. Not a great snorkel experience unless you go really really far out. There are BBQs facing the beach, a great little cabana, chairs, a small pool and well maintained Hawaii garden vibe. Really peaceful and perfect. 2. Unit itself: While some have been redone and apparently some have not, one one we were in (Unit 16) had been redone. Lovely Hawaiian furniture, granite counters, updated bathrooms, air, and an exceptionally well-stocked kitchen with everything you would need to cook, store, etc. They also start you out with a little starter pack of coffee, some spices, etc. and if a guest leaves behind a spice, that is there for you to use. beds were comfortable, bedding was great, view was spectacular, and I really cannot think of anything inside the unit... 3. Amenities: The BBQ is clean and ready to use (gas) which is great. There are 6 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, a couple of different sized coolers, ours also had fishing gear, some boogy boards, and we purchased a left a couple of noodles. Really everything you need for a great trip to the beach. We checked and brought our own beach umbrella so we were set.
4. Support/Front office: They were terrific. We had a couple of chair problems that were immediately resolved, we found a broken dish that was resolved, we had them come fix a screen door that was off track that was very quickly resolved. I really don't think you could ask any more of the front office staff. They were friendly, on it, didn't appear as if you were causing them a problem. First rate folks.
5. Location: We thought the location was perfect. A quieter area in Kahana but beach front. Easy drive to Kaanapali, Lahaina, Napili, Honolua bay, Kapalua bay, etc. We much preferred it to the busier less Hawaiian area of Kaanapali.

read moreread less487kristis6/27/2021This was Ono! We've always enjoyed our visits to Maui but this time we stayed at Kahana Village and we hit the jackpot! We were concerned as we knew that beaches in that area were losing sand at an alarming rate over the past few years. However, this resort sits on "Secret Beach" which is more like a cove. We had been watching their webcam for some time before we even booked in order to see daily life at the resort. We liked what we saw and booked for June 2021 for two weeks. We chose our unit carefully taking into consideration that we wanted a unit that overlooked the beach and had enough living room seating for four adults to actually stretch out and be comfortable. We rented #27 and really enjoyed it. Mornings on the lanai with iced coffee, a rain sprinkle or two, a comical Oriental Beetle and Green Anole, and THE VIEW were exactly what we were looking for. The grounds are beautiful with Hawaiian flowers. All of the upstairs units are two bedrooms which are really one real bedroom and a spacious loft with its own bathroom. Our unit had twin beds in the loft of which we requested to be made into a king bed. It was comfortable as could be. There were three a/c's in the unit, one in the living room, one in the real bedroom, and one in the loft. However, we are from AZ and enjoyed the weather so much that we usually left the windows open which created a nice cross draft and this kept the unit nice and cool. We did end up closing the windows in the late afternoon and enjoyed some a/c time. This unit was well stocked with almost everything one would need, including spices. One thing that we noticed was that the king bedspread had multiple stains on the inside of it. It appeared to have not been washed in years. We enjoyed our "private" beach. Half of it was a rock outcrop which drew in green sea turtles. The other half was nice white sand. We found that it was easier to enter the gentle surf if we wore beach shoes so that we wouldn't be surprised by stepping on stray rocks. Maintenance was helpful and always kept the common areas perfect. The pool was pleasant although a little on the cool side. It was only 3 foot deep which is perfect for being lazy. The jacuzzi was on the fritz and was either 89 or 105 degrees. The common ramada was a nice place to cook dinner on one of the four barbecues and then enjoy the nice seating. A friend of the on-site manager came by frequently and would play the ukulele which was pleasant. During two weeks, two different green sea turtles hauled up our beach for a rest. The last one hauled up only 20 feet from where we were sitting. At that point, the population on our beach went from 2 to 3. Turtles could be seen daily eating the sea grass from the rocks. It was hard to see them while snorkeling due to turbidity. Sunsets were phenomenal. Views to Lanai and Molokai were great. Surf was never strong enough to knock one down. It was nice to just bob out in the slight waves. On our last night, we saw fins in the cove! It was not a dolphin. Coincidentally, that was the day when three turtles stayed within two feet of the beach. We hope to come back some time!

Beautiful condo and amazing views!! Location, location, location!! This condo village is private and beautiful. You fell like you are away from the hustle and bustle. But everything is still very close. The condo we stayed in was beautiful! Very clean, lots of windows, ocean and pool views. They have grills and tables to use. The beach is steps away. We have two teenagers and they were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. We would absolutely stay here again!!

Just returned from a stay at the Kahana Village resort. Lovely grounds and common areas. Very attentive and helpful staff. Super relaxing, off the beaten path location.
Would recommend with this one caveat - pick your unit wisely!
Our friends unit was newly (within 5-10 years) remodeled and ours - unit 39 - was a 70s throwback, including scratched parquet floors and aging recliners.
Our view was better. Balcony looked straight at the beach.
Their view was of the pool, garden then beach.
Both had AC - which was fantastic.
They were the same price.
There seemed to be even more recently remodeled units for even dearer price points.
Great access to roads to beaches or town.
Easy in and out of the resort - no long walks to elevators rides.
Wonderful bbq gazebo and lounge chairs on the turf.
Great for groups or families. Moreread moreread lessmorganopolis6/21/2021Kahana Village We stayed in a beautiful oceanfront 2 bedroom unit that was literally 10 yards from a secluded beach. read moreread lessGuide4526601/08/2021We just got back from a week stay at Kahana Village and it was incredible. The grounds are in great shape and the views of the ocean from anywhere on the property were fantastic.
We stayed in unit 3 which was beautifully updated and was very comfortable. It had everything you could possibly need from beach gear to cooking needs. The beds are about ready to be replaced, but they were still comfortable.
The unit has AC (some of the units do not so be aware of which unit you are looking at)
Our kids loved being able to go from the pool right to the ocean in 20 steps. The beach itself is really nice compared to some of the other oceanfront properties in the area. There beach itself is really sandy which was nice for the kids to play in. It's a bit more rocky in the water so having water shoes is a good idea but not absolutely necessary. There was decent snorkeling, we saw several turtles at this beach. So if you're looking for a place a little less "resort-like" but still oceanfront this is a great option. And at a fraction of the price!
The management was great. The dryer went out in our unit and they couldn't get anyone in to fix it till the next day so they gave us access to an empty unit so we could get our laundry done. That meant more to us than they probably know!
There is a gas station, general store, coffee shop, mcdonalds, maui brewery, chinese and sushi restaurants all within walking distance. It's away enough from the hustle and bustle of Ka'anapali and Lahaina that it's quiet and relaxing. But close enough that you can be there within 5-10 minutes.

Loved the place so much we came back for our last week - Thanksgiving 2020. The grounds are so well maintained and you feel you are in a Hawaiian dream. The team at the Village was friendly and always there to help. They answered the phone each time! We have a special needs son that is 30 years old and we felt he was so safe here. Our favorite place to stay in Maui We have rented from this facility about 15 times, both the 2 bedroom units as well as the 3 bedroom units. Mostly the deluxe oceanside units. We have never had a significant problem with any of our rental units. Any problems we noted were always minimal, and quickly remedied by the administration. The office staff is very available for any concerns. The swimming pool is ideal for very young children.

One of the best parts of our vacation was watching the humpback whales in the channel. If you're looking for a luxury vacation, there are lots of big resorts nearby. Kahana Village is for a lower-key experience. The other guests and residents were really friendly, and hang out together at the pool, spa, barbecues, and narrow beach. The cove at Kahana has a reef that is suitable for snorkeling and surfing, but there are a lot of rocks where the surf hits the sand. After arriving on Maui, stop at the Walmart or Target close to the Kahului airport to stock up on staples for the kitchen (which for us included beer). Shop at the Napili Market (about a mile from Kahana Village) for poke or other fresh food. If you're staying at Kahana Village, you're probably not looking for a really touristy experience, so you'll probably want to avoid the shops and restaurants to the south at Ka'anapali. The pool was perfect for our little swimmers. It is 3 feet with no deep end, so I was so confident with them in this pool. The room (Unit 9) was perfect for us. The room configuration was good, although I will caution parents that putting little ones upstairs might not be ideal as the bed is up right next to the upstairs balcony, so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our rambunctious four-year-old up there (he likes to jump on beds) and that would have been dangerous. Otherwise, the unit was perfect for a family. The kitchen is well stocked with plastic cups for kids, boogie boards, towels etc. Another note for parents, the beach is great to walk on (and ok for adult swimming) but it really isn’t great for kids. Our room overlooked a quiet beach with views of two other islands. It has a pool overlooking the beach and is conveniently located North of Lahaina between the two major resorts. It was quiet and recently redone in top of line materials, furniture and appliances.
The biggest thing we liked was that the folks who operate and work there are all very friendly and seem to genuinely care about every little detail from the grounds to extreme cleanliness. They even have new beach chairs, boogie boards, etc in each room. In talking to other guests, most have returned here year after year, which we took as a sign of consistent quality. A couple of items that prevented this from being an excellent review.
1. The beach does have sand but there are a lot of rocks. Not really a good place to go into the water because the rocks.

As good as it gets! This was our third stay at Kahana Village and our third stay in Unit 34 which feels like a home from home now. We cannot put into words how magical Kahana Village is and how much it means to us both. This stay was as good as the previous ones and for the first time we got to see some turtles on the beach too.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful and we love meeting people at the Wednesday Mai Tai party. The units and grounds are immaculate and are just so quiet. Unit 34 has wonderful views of the ocean, sunsets. and neighboring islands and is away from the hub of the pool, its just perfect.
Its walking distance to the Kahana Gateway centre which has the wonderful Maui Brewing Company (just the 3 visits this time) and Hawaiian Village Coffee which has the best coffee on the island. The Whalers General store is handy too. Just minutes drive from the fantastic Kapalua Bay beach which is great for snorkelling and just a few more minutes down the road is the hidden Slaughterhouse Beach which is wonderful too.
Its a long way to come from the UK, but its worth it. Sitting watching the sunset on the beach with a beer is as good as it gets. Kahana Village is genuinely our favorite place on the planet.

Great place but Beware if it's HOT We had a beautiful one bedroom plus loft condo overlooking the beach and towards Molokai. The condo was beautifully furnished and well-equipped. The heat and humidity was terrible when we were there the first week of October but the beach (in the shade) was lovely. Because of 3 recent storms, the water at the small beach in front of the complex was very muddy and murky and we had to travel to go swimming in the ocean. The pool was quite nice except the first day we were there, there were 14 (!!) small children in the pool and the noise and activity level was too high for relaxation. This pretty much continued throughout the week, so if you're looking for quiet relaxation, this is not the place. There are beautiful barbecues by the beach also. The location was fantastic and we were centrally located to all of West Maui's amenities. The absolute worst part of our stay, however, was the lack of air conditioning. It was impossible to sleep in the loft d/t heat rising and we slept in the main bedroom w/ 4 fans on us. It was well over 84 degrees in the condo and the humidity was sky high also. The only way I'd ever stay here again is if we were in a different condo that had AC and I'd have second thoughts about all of the children running rampant. More

Our condo #19 was beautiful, ocean front, well appointed and over all, very comfortable. We loved having breakfast daily on the lanai, the use of BBQs on site and the wet bar and wine fridge in the unit. The in unit washer and dryer were fantastic. The grounds and pool area were lovely and we loved the Lei Making class and Mai Tai Wednesday with live entertainment. Maid service half way though out stay was very nice. We look forward to returning someday! Our only complaint is that the 2 king size beds in the unit are in desperate need of replacement, otherwise a 5 star rating would have been given. More

beautiful property on the beach We stayed in an oceanfront condo with splendid view on the beach, the sea and Lana‘i in the distance. It was worth every penny to have such a view every morning while having breakfast on the balcony. The pool is quite small but well kept and the proprty sits right on a beautiful sandy beach. The management is outstanding, I had a problem with construction going on one unit over and was promptly moved away from the noise and even to a more luxurious unit (mahalo!). The resort also provides free lei making classes on saturdays and a mai tai party with free food and drinks with live music, hula and a hula dance lesson on wednesdays. Be sure not to miss that! I would definitely recommend to family and friends, especially when travelling with kids!

Although categorized as a "standard" unit (not a deluxe or a luxury), #23 was just beautiful and perfect for us: spacious, clean, well-designed, and with jaw-dropping views. We were glad we chose a unit with air conditioning. While it's true that it really cooled down at night and there were breezes, it was nice to return to the condo in the heat of the late afternoon (having closed windows and doors while we were out) and find the place comfortably cool.
The resort is comparatively small and has a homey feel, and as others have noted, it has a loyal following of repeat visitors. Everyone was friendly -- the staff as well as the other visitors! It's great to have the little beach right outside, mere steps away. While not a world-class beach (you wouldn't likely spend a whole day beaching here), it's great for a quick swim and we saw lots of people paddle boarding. Plus, it's wonderful to be able to have a walk on the beach while sipping your morning coffee or your evening cocktail. The property on the whole (plantings, walkways, etc) is meticulously maintained and groomed, and the location is convenient to lots of excellent restaurants and a grocery store. We found that West Maui was a good base for visiting the whole island, and had no trouble driving to Hana and other eastern and southern locations. And the value just can't be beat. For our family of 4 (including 2 grown sons, ages 17 and 21), this lovely, spacious condo with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and that spectacular view was a real bargain. Wonderful Room with a View! Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at Kahana Village! We stayed in Unit #3 and loved everything about it. Comfy beds, clean, well stocked kitchen, updated decor, beach needs galore, and of course the VIEW are a few of favorites. The condo felt roomy and had all the comforts of home. The grounds of Kahana Village were well kept with beautiful native flowers, plants and trees and the common areas were also clean and take care of. Love the cabana area and that there is ice for you to fill your cooler with for the day. I loved the location of Kahana Village too. Not too far from wonderful beaches, activities, restaurants, grocery stores, but felt perfectly out of the way of the busier areas of West Maui. Two things that I think are worth mentioning are: 1. the beach in front of the condo isn't much and is rather rocky. The relaxing ocean sounds are the same! :-) 2. the pool is the same depth. I can't remember what it is, but it's comfortable for kids to play in but not so much for adults (shallow). Neither of these would keep us from coming back as we loved Kahana Village and Unit # 3!! Not a lot else to say.... Our 10th year and probably 13th visit to Kahana Village. This is the only place we stay on Maui. We've thought about others but keep winding up calling Vicki and making reservations at that little place on earth we love to call home.
We've stayed in a number of different units there. All but one was a two bedroom. This stay was in unit 8. An updated unit with a great view of the ocean and Molokai. It looks directly out at the pool on property. It's stocked really well and suited our needs perfectly. Perfect? No. Is the Ritz? No. :)
What's to love best about Kahana Village is the intimacy of the complex and the management team, it's location away from Kaanapali and all it's craziness as that atmosphere just isn't what we like on a two week vacation and how easy it is to get to town or head up to Kapalua for some really good food. These are just a few reasons. There are tons of them.

This was our first trip to Maui and we wanted to find that special condo close to everything yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. I somehow found Kahana Village through TA and it did not disappoint! From check in (we felt special having our name up on the “welcome” board) to the Mai Tai party the staff puts on each Wednesday (Andrew the ukulele player/singer is a hoot!), this gem of a resort has lots of accommodation options for couples and large families. I found out from other guests at the pool that this property is one they return to year after year. The grounds are immaculate! We stayed in unit 9 on our visit, a nice 1 bedroom with a loft for additional sleeping accommodations. The bathrooms and kitchen are all updated with modern amenities and the kitchen was stocked almost as good as my own at home (they didn’t have a pancake griddle so we improvised). During our stay the weather wasn’t super hot so we only had the opportunity to use the air-conditioning a couple of times, but it definitely did the trick. The nights were perfect with the ceiling fans throughout. The lanai is definitely big enough for a family of four to enjoy a meal or just to relax. The King size bed was extra comfy! This is usually not the case anywhere else I’ve stayed. Since it was just the two...
I had been told there was no longer much of a beach here because of erosion, but it was perfect for us. Not too far to walk and we saw people with their lawn chairs set up to watch the sun set. It was fun to watch the tide come in and out & the sun sets just to the left of Moloka'i. The beach isn’t too rocky except in a few spots, so just bring your water shoes if you want to get in. We saw people windsurfing fishing, surfing, boogie boarding and snorkeling right off our beach.
Mike & Vicki (who are the resident managers) were very accommodating hosts. We just loved this little property and hope to return again soon someday! The location is away from the crowds and traffic of Kaanapali. There is convenient access to a diversity of food, restaurants and markets.

For us it was affordable luxury with three big bedrooms and two excellent bathrooms. The air-con was actually necessary because the temps were in the upper 80s most days. The kitchen was a pleasure to work in, well-equipped and neat.

Kahana Village As you walk through Kahana Village you will find yourself entering a beautiful tropical garden. There are multiple paths which lead to each unit. In the center there is a pool and hot tub facing the ocean. There are also grills and patio seating for a cook out . We stayed in unit 6 which is a one level 3 bedroom conveniently located to the pool area and the ocean. In about 15 steps you will be on the beach or at the pool. There is an actual beach which is hard to find in Maui. This beach is not busy and at times you will be the only one on the beach. The snorkeling is great. The coral is tan with an occasional green but if you snorkel toward the shallow small rock area you will find multiple stacked coral with poke a dot fish ( box fish) , Picasso trigger fish, snowflake eel, needle fish, and small yellow/ green black striped fish. My favorite were the trigger and the box fish. You will definitely see sea turtles and possibly have them swim to you while you are snorkeling. Scary when you are not expecting it!!! This morning we actually watched a whale swim by to far out for good pictures. We have tried shoreline fishing without much luck. The owner has rods but you will need to bring a reel. We used Demming’s to have our food delivered... As you walk through Kahana Village you will find yourself entering a beautiful tropical garden. There are multiple paths which lead to each unit. Our unit was perfect, right on the water, close to the pool, very well appointed with absolutely everything we needed, in the kitchen, towels, beach gear etc. And if we were in need of anything all we had to do was ask. The staff and management are great and do everything they can to make sure you have a good stay. We chose to stock our unit with a few groceries for our arrival which was a service called Demmings and was recommended on the website it was fantastic and I will be doing this every time I go, it was so nice to not worry about shopping on the first couple of days and just show up. We invited friends over a few times and they could not get over how perfect the resort is, commented over and over about how peaceful it was. So all in all it was another fantastic time at Kahana Village we will absolute be going back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing family holiday!

I can't think of any room for improvement except the king size bed in the master bedroom is pretty soft. We prefer a firmer bed. Condo has everything you need including beach umbrellas and a full size laundry detergent to do lots of laundry if needed- we did as we did not check our luggage on the plane. The staff was excellent - the property quiet and very well maintained. The beach is sandy but rocky as you enter, so you need water shoes. We had large green sea turtles resting on the beach a few days we were there - very cool. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely return to Kahana Village and unit 15. Would recommend Maui Zip Line at Maui Tropical Plantation for family zip lining (5 lines and 90 minutes), Maui Ocean Sports for kayaking with a guide and the Pacific Whale Foundation for a whale watching adventure. Also, you are only a 25 minute drive from the Nakalele blow hole - park at mile marker 38.5 (not 38) and prepare to see one of the coolest things mother nature has to offer - free and a highlight of our trip.

Already planning our return someday! We had a wonderful time. The staff was kind and very accommodating. Any issues were resolved right away! Quiet location, which we like, versus the hubbub of a big resort. Good shallow pool for kids. Not too crowded even during spring break. Its beachfront is a plus but I'd recommend sandals or surf shoes to walk into the water, a little rocky ~1ft below the water line, I just swam with my tevas on, helped me float anyway :) Waves are not intense, so if you want to boogie board on the boards all the condos have, you'll be disappointed, our kids still had fun bobbing around. But if you like to sit in a beach chair (4 are provided/condo) and read a book with your feet in the sand or in the edge of the water, it's perfect! Some condos seem to have a beach umbrella but those are not inherently provided, I think previous guests may have purchased them and left them in some. Our unit, #10, was a great 2Bdrm. I liked the adult master/king in the loft and keeping the kids in the downstairs bathroom, some are are arranged opposite. Some elements of unit #10 have been updated (upstair bath, kitchen?). Has A/C which is needed in the loft in the afternoon as the skylights make it pretty warm otherwise but the rest of the time open windows and doors would be fine, if that's more your thing. Nice big lanai/balcony. Everything you'd need in the kitchen, including most spices, save for sugar ;) so we dropped $3 to get some and left it there. Perfectly good grills outside and they were cleaned each day by staff. Beach front for walking is short (i.e. not like Kihei, where you could walks for a few miles) but still lovely otherwise. Sunsets into the water each night between Lanai and Molokai, that just doesn't get old. We would consider visiting this location again for sure (we may try another island for kicks and giggles next time we make it to Hawaii).

The property is well-maintained, including the general landscape, pool and hot tub. I especially appreciated the landscape. They have some local vegetation between the condo buildings that makes the property feel tropical and the units isolated.
All the units have great views and we had an awesome view of the ocean, Molokai and Lanai from our unit. Watched the sunset on most nights and enjoyed listening to the rolling waves on the beach.
Only recommendation is for kitchen and bathroom updates. These areas seem about 10 years past their prime. In addition, kitchen could have used some additional items such as a couple of baking sheets and metal spatulas.

Although they state it comes with "starter" soaps there was plenty of paper supplies and soaps left from prior guests Plus the midweek maid left more (if staying more than a few nights). Location to Lahaina very good and every beach in the area was fantastic. Area groceries were fine. We did Costco near the airport and then did Walmart too since Costco only has huge quantities and we only needed 8 days worth. Front office great to work with as well from reservations to directions to after hours check in. Some people we met there only ventured away for 1 day since they and their kids liked it so well. Home away from home Kahana Village is a lovely place to park yourself for a week. The condo was spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We stayed in # 28 which is right on the beach. The balcony overlooks the beach so you can just sit there and drink in the scenery and watch the sunsets, listen to the waves lap against the shore. In front of us was a bit rocky, we had black rock so we couldn't just walk out into the ocean, but if you just walk a bit further down it's fine. It's quite private so there were only a handful of people out there any given day. The kitchen was modern, the fridge was already stocked with some bottles of water, some coffee and there were tea bags provided as well. There were plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans and even baking supplies. The staff was lovely. Vicky, Mike and Jeff were all helpful. There was a lady came and cleaned our room halfway through our stay and restocked us with toilet paper and kleenex. Our only complaint was it was a bit far from everything. The grocery store was not just around the corner, it was a long walk and as I had injured my leg, hubby had to go walk about himself and ended up carrying way too much stuff on a long walk. We didn't want to have to worry about a car, so we didn't rent one. I suggest if you want to stay here, maybe you should. There is a bus right outside,,, not sure where that takes you; we probably should have investigated that. Next time we will, if there is one. The taxi service seemed to be below par also. Not sure what was going on there. You have to make it clear you're at Kahana Village because there's Kahana Villa as well. The dispatcher either doesn't speak or understand English very well and/or needs new telephone upgrade. The phone kept cutting in & out and you end up wondering if he understood what you were asking...we waited forever a couple of times. On the last day, we waited forever for the one to take us to the airport (Kapalua which is close). The lovely Vicki ended up driving us as we were afraid we would miss our flight. I can't blame Kahana Village for this at all though. Everything there was lovely.
