Best West Maui Activities: Things To Do On Your Vacation

As you travel to West Maui to spend your long-awaited vacation, the neighboring towns of Lahaina and Ka’anapali offer a great variety of fun activities and things to check off your Hawaii Vacation bucket list. Whether you are here for the food, the beaches, the people, or just the sunshine, there is definitely an activity for you!

Lahaina Second Friday
Maui knows how to have a good time and the evidence of that is in their Friday Night Parties. There is a town party every week and each town hosts their own unique celebration. On the second Friday of each month, West Maui throws a party! Located on Front Street in Lahaina Town, enjoy a safe and fun community-oriented, family-friendly event, consisting of free entertainment, special offers, Friday-only promotions and an array of food and beverage choices from many different merchants. It’s a great way to enjoy your night while supporting Maui’s local economy.

Explore Kahakuloa
For visitors that do not have the time or simply do not feel like doing the 52-mile Road to Hana Adventure, we recommend driving the Kahekili Highway. The Kahekili Highway is one of Maui’s lesser-known scenic drives and takes you from Kapalua to Waihe’e. Known as the rugged north, expect hairpin turns, steep oceanside drops, narrow one-lane sections but beautiful ocean and coastline views. Enjoy the view at Honolua Bay, watch the beauty of nature at Nakalele Blowhole, hike to the Olivine pools  (if the seas are calm and the waves aren’t crashing on the rocks), and taste some banana bread in Kahakuloa Village. It is sure to be an experience you won’t forget.

Whaler’s Village
What is truly better than shopping in paradise? Visit Whaler’s Village located in Ka’anapali, where you can get anything from local handmade jewelry, iconic Hawaiian shirts, or a new bathing suit. Besides shopping, you and your family can participate in their free events such as lei making classes, hula lessons, ukulele lessons, live music, and hula shows.

Black Rock
Just a 5-minute walk down the boardwalk from Whaler’s Village is Black Rock. Also known as Pu’u Keka’a, Black Rock is well-known for its generally calm water and a great place for snorkeling, swimming, and lounging on the beach. This is where you can wade through crystal clear waters, snorkel with the most beautiful fish in the sea, and swim beside sea turtles. (But remember, please do not touch them. It’s illegal here) You can’t leave Ka’anapali without stopping to soak up some sun at Black Rock.

Free Mai Tai Parties on Wednesdays
As a guest at Kahana Village, one of the amenities that is offered is an exclusive Mai Tai Party held every Wednesday evening. Located in the “backyard”, join us by the beach and sip on some Mai Tais. This is a celebration of all ages, so bring your keiki (children), there will also be an assortment of non-alcoholic juices and sodas available, as well as delicious appetizers.

So with that being said, have you reserved your Maui condo on the beach yet? Book now at Kahana Village and enjoy all these Lahaina activities at your leisure.
