Top Things To Do For Christmas In Maui 2018

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we invite you to spend the holidays in the most wonderful place in the world. With coconut palms wrapped in twinkling lights and the faint sound of festive jingles carried in the island breeze, it is really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in Hawaii. So if you are opting for white sand beaches instead of the traditional snowy backdrop, we have a few recommendations for you to celebrate the season while on a Hawaii vacation.

Lahaina Banyan Tree Lighting

Next to the bustling Front Street, Lahaina is most known for the sprawling banyan tree fronting the harbor. Each year the town gets together for a special lighting ceremony and opening night of 2018 will be December 1st. If your Maui vacation happens to overlap a little bit later in the season, you can still enjoy the festive scene as it will be lit nightly until the New Year. What makes this even better? It is just a few minutes away from your beachfront vacation rental!

Watch Santa Catch Some Waves

Nothing really says the holidays than searching the Christmas Eve skies for a glimpse of Santa Claus on his sleigh, unless of course, you are in Hawaii. Stopping over at the Wailea Resort area, Santa will be catching some waves on an outrigger canoe before heading back to the North Pole. This event is free and open to the public on December 24th!

Get A Taste Of Christmas

And while you are in the resort area, why not grab a seat at one of the many multi-course holiday dinners and specialty buffets! This is a great way to sit down with your loved ones and enjoy all the island flavors that our Maui chefs specialize in. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time as seats do fill up fast!

Take A Ride On The Holiday Express

If you are traveling with young kids and are looking for things to do that still spread that holiday cheer, we recommend taking a ride on Maui’s Sugar Cane Holiday Express! With Christmas décor paired with caroling and possibly a surprise visit from Santa, it is definitely a West Maui activity that the whole family can enjoy. And did we mention that there will be milk and cookies?

Here at Kahana Village, we see each and every one of you as ohana, which is why we want to make this season especially special! And with all the resort amenities and the festive activities around the island, we are sure that you will make your Hawaii vacation unforgettable. Mele Kalikimaka!
